Questions with a reason behind them.

01 — Essentials

Let’s start with the big picture

A few basics give your designer the context behind the work.

  1. What would you like us to call this project? *
  2. What is the name of the business, organization, or event? *
  3. In your own words, what are we making? *

It is completely fine if you do not know the exact design terms.

  4. Why does this project need to exist right now? *
  5. What is the most important thing this design should accomplish? *

02 — People & message

Who should this connect with?

The clearer the audience and message, the more intentional the design can be.

  1. Who do you most want this design to reach? *

Describe real people if you can: what matters to them, where they are, or what they already know.

  2. What information absolutely must be included? *

Names, dates, prices, contact details, legal copy, calls to action, or anything else that cannot be left out.

03 — Visual direction

Which direction feels closest?

These are signals, not strict instructions. Your designer will use them to understand your taste.

  1. Which type of lettering feels closest to what you imagine?

A quick type note: These examples show broad styles, not final font choices. Pick the one that feels closest—or let your designer decide.

  2. Which overall energy feels more appropriate?
  3. Should it feel more polished or more handmade?

04 — Files & references

What can you share with your designer?

Existing assets, examples, and background can make the first design round more focused.

  1. Do you have logos, photos, copy, or other files to share?

You can add several files, each up to 10 MB.

  2. Are there any references or examples you want your designer to see?

Links are welcome. Tell us what you like—or dislike—about each one.

  3. Anything else that would be useful to know?

05 — Usage

What should the advertisement move people to do?

A strong ad has one clear promise and one clear next step.

  1. Where will the finished design be used? *
  2. What exactly are we advertising? *
  3. Where will the advertisement run? *
  4. What is the main call to action? *
  5. Are there required logos, prices, terms, or disclaimers?

06 — Production

Where will the finished design live?

This helps your designer plan the right sizes, formats, and level of detail.

  1. Will this design be printed? *

A quick color note: Colors can look different on a screen and in print. You only need to tell us where the design will be used; your designer will confirm the setup with the printer.

  2. Do you already know the final size? If so, what is it?If known

For example: 11 × 17 inches, A4, or a size your printer already provided. It is fine to leave this blank.

  3. Has a printer or production vendor already been selected? If so, who is it?If known

You do not need to choose a vendor to complete this brief.

  4. If your printer gave you a spec sheet, template, or production requirements, you can upload them here.If known

PDF, image, text, and common office files up to 10 MB. Leave this blank if nothing was provided.

  5. What will be printed, and roughly how many are planned?

Describe the item or material in everyday terms. A rough quantity is enough.

  6. Did the platform, publication, or placement provider give you required dimensions or specifications? If known

Share only what they provided. You are not expected to determine the technical format yourself.

  7. If the platform, publication, or placement provider gave you a spec sheet or template, you can upload it here.If known

Leave this blank if nothing was provided.

07 — Timing & approval

When does this need to happen?
